How it works
Risk is the distance from entry to stop; reward is the distance from entry to target. The breakeven win rate is 1 ÷ (1 + reward/risk). A 2:1 trade breaks even at a 33.3% win rate, before commissions.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good risk/reward ratio?
There is no single right number. A higher ratio needs a lower win rate to be profitable, but targets further away get hit less often. Track your real win rate for each setup.
